This policy applies to the TeachMania Windows app and to https://smart-poller.learncentre.tech, operated by LearnCentre (“we”, “us”).
1. What we collect
When a teacher signs in with Google we receive the Google account identifiers needed to run the app:
- Google user id
- Email address
- Display name and profile picture URL, if Google provides them
We also store data the app sends to run the licence:
- A device id and device name for each Windows PC that signs in
- Plan, trial, and Razorpay payment / subscription status
- Login session tokens (short-lived access token; rotating refresh token)
- Capture tickets and heartbeats: a local class id and a hash of the YouTube video id — never the raw video URL
We do not collect YouTube live chat, student messages, poll answers, or class recordings. Capture stays on the teacher’s computer. This cloud never sees chat text.
2. Why we collect it
- To authenticate the teacher (Google Sign-In)
- To enforce the trial and paid plan (devices, concurrent lives, billing)
- To issue a short-lived capture ticket the Windows engine can verify locally
- To process payments through Razorpay
We do not sell teacher data. We do not use Google user data for ads.
3. Google user data
Google Sign-In uses the scopes openid, email, and profile only. We use that information solely to create and recognise the teacher’s TeachMania account. We do not request Gmail, Drive, YouTube, or other Google scopes. We do not share Google user data with third parties except as needed to run the service (hosting and payment processing below).
4. Who else sees data
- Razorpay processes subscription payments. Card/UPI details go to Razorpay, not to our database.
- Hosting for this API (compute, Postgres, Redis) stores account and billing state.
- We may disclose information if required by Indian law.
5. Cookies and this website
These public pages do not set advertising cookies. The Windows app stores session tokens in Windows Credential Manager / DPAPI on the teacher’s PC, not in a browser cookie.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account and billing records while the teacher’s account is active and for a limited period afterwards as needed for invoices and abuse prevention. A teacher can sign out of one device or all devices from the app. To delete an account and associated Google profile data, email the operator using the support address shown in the TeachMania Windows app, or contact LearnCentre via learncentre.tech.
7. Children
This service is for teachers. It is not directed at children under 18. Students’ chat never reaches our servers.
8. Security
Traffic to this host is HTTPS. Capture tickets are signed so the Windows engine can verify them without embedding private keys. We do not put JWT secrets or Ed25519 private keys in the Windows app.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the “last updated” date.
